At some point over the coming year, I am probably going to end up kicking myself for this or at the very least, laughing hysterically at my wide-eye optimism, but I’ve decided to sign up for several challenges for 2009, in addition to the ongoing challenges I am still participating in (the Book Awards Reading Challenge, the 2nd Canadian Book Challenge, and the Countdown Challenge). One of the new challenges involves reading 100 books, and I think having other challenges will help me meet that goal. Here are the ones I’ve signed up for so far. If you are hosting or know of others that you think I should consider, please post about it in the comments section.

I am already in more challenges than I was last year and the year is just starting! I don’t know how I am going to make out, but we shall see, I guess! Good luck! May you find lots of wonderful reads this year!
Good luck with all of your challenges! Happy New Year!
WOW!! Good luck with all your challenges – there really are some great challenges for 2009!
You are a brave one. I alway see challenges that I want to do, and I always think to myself- well maybe I could just do this one….but I can’t and I don’t. My reading for school is always so dang heavy that I just can’t pick up anymore.
I’m very excited about the new Sarah Waters, which I know of only because I’m a “fan” of hers on Facebook. Any idea when it will be published in the States?
I didn’t know there was a new Sarah waters coming out. I’ll definitely read it!
I’ve tagged you for a meme here!:

Oh have fun with your reading challenges! I’m also doing Dewey’s, 9 for 09, and What’s in a Name… I want to join so many others but am trying to behave
We will have to have our own little book club discussion after we both finish Gone With the Wind!
Wheee! Thanks for joining us for the Year of Reading Dangerously! You’ve got some great ones chosen so far!
Thanks for joining the 9 for ‘09 challenge.
I am looking forward to your posts.
I’m planning to read Gone with the Wind for the Chunkster Challenge. My copy doesn’t gather much dust but is put away in storage for ages!
